Christian Ringnes is a Norwegian businessman and art collector who is popularly known for being a member of the family that owns Ringnes Brewery, the largest brewery in Norway. He is also the chairman of Ringes Group, a Norwegian real estate and shipping company, and as well owns museums, hotels, and restaurants in his hometown of Oslo.

Christian Ringnes Early Life, Age and Education

Christian Ringnes was born on March 3, 1954, in Oslo, Norway to Bjørg Bøe (mother) and Christian Kaurin Ringnes (father). He was born into the Ringes family which is known for establishing the popular “Ringes” brewery in 1876. 


At the age of seven, Christian received a half-empty Gordon's Gin miniature liquor bottle as a gift from his father. This inspired him to own the largest mini-bottle collection in the world today with over 52,000 miniature liquor bottles.


As of 2024, Christian Ringnes is 70 years old. 


He attended the University of Lausanne, in Switzerland, where he acquired a Masters of Business Administration. He also graduated with a Masters of Business Administration from the Harvard Business School in the United States.

Christian Ringnes is a businessman, investor and art collector.


He started his career as a real estate investor in 1984 and was able to make a name for himself in the real estate industry. Today, he is the CEO of real estate companies like Victoria Eiendom and Eiendomsspar. He is also the largest shareholder in both companies. 


Christian Ringnes is also a known businessman. In 2001, he acquired the dilapidated Ekeberg Restaurant in Oslo, renovated it, and opened it for business in 2005. He has since then gone on to establish various hotels, and restaurants in the city. 


As an art collector, Christian Ringnes currently owns the largest mini-bottle collection in the world today with over 52,000 miniature liquor bottles. This collection can be found in a three-story museum in Oslo where it is commissioned.


In 2013, Christian opened his sculpture and cultural park. The park, in which he donated over $70 million to, is currently ranked as one of the top 5 parks in the world by The Wall Street Journal. 




Christian Ringnes Awards and Achievements

As a result of his efforts to promote Oslo as a city and destination, Christian Ringnes was appointed to “Oslo Ambassador” by the city's Marketing Association.


In 2005, Christian was awarded “City Patriot,” a honorary award by Oslo. In 2013, he was voted “Citizen of the Year” by the readers of Aftenposten, the largest media outlet in Norway. 


Today, one of Christian Ringnes' sculptures, “Peacock Fountain,” has been given to Oslo at the National Theatre station. His other sculpture, “Kate Moss,” has also been given to the city at the Opera Passage.
