Born on the 19th of July (year unknown), Deborah Shokoya, popularly known as Debbie Shokoya, is a Nigerian actress, TV personality, model and film maker and entrepreneur.
Debbie Shokoya rose to fame after she was featured as "Fatty Abebelube" in a movie titled "Aye Loja." She has since gone on to win the hearts of many in the Nigerian movie industry with her exceptional acting skills and impressive on-screen personality.
Early life and education
She started and completed both her primary and secondary school education in Lagos before moving to Oyo State, where she studied at the Polytechnic Ibadan and obtained a degree in Public Administration.
Career
In 2012, she joined the prestigious Nollywood industry and starred in "Creative Man," a film by John Olakunle Da'Silva. She featured in other not-so-popular movies after that, noting that some of her biggest influences in the Nollywood industry are Peju Ogunmola, Funke Akindele-Bello, Dele Odule, Ibrahim Chatta, Richard Mofe Damijo (RMD) and Toyin Abraham whom she admires considering the efforts she puts into interpreting her roles.
In 2017, Debbie Shokoya made her break-through in the Nigerian movie industry when she was featured as "Fatty Abebelube" in a movie titled "Aye Loja." The movie was a popular one and even featured other notable names like Tunde Owokoniran, Ibrahim Shatta, Peju Ogunmola, and Dele Odule, among others.
Since then, Debbie Shokoya has since gone on to feature in TV series like So Wrong So Wright and Tales of Eve and movies like Ibale Mi, Ile Opo, JUDASI, Oluwonkoko, Oyenusi, Kilo Sele Gangan, and Agbede Meeji, among others.
