Born in 1969 in Casablanca, Morocco, Nina Aouilk is a Moroccan artist. She became renowned as a result of her unique approach to art, which involves a combination of materials and methods used in Western contemporary art and those used in traditional Moroccan art. 

Education and Career

Nina Aouilk studied at École Nationale des Beaux-Arts in Casablanca, where she graduated with a B.A. in Fine Arts. She then went on to start a career as a creative director and graphic designer in the advertising industry, working for several advertising firms and organizations. 

Since then, Nina Aouilk has devoted her attention and time to art, getting inspired by Islamic calligraphy, traditional Moroccan fabrics, and Moroccan scenery and producing artworks that include components like cloth, paper, wood, and metal. 

Achievement and Recognition

Nina Aouilk has received a lot of recognition and acclaim for her works, thanks to her unique style and approach to art. 

In 2007, Nina Aouilk was presented with the "Grand Prix Hassan II" prize during the Biennial of Contemporary Art in Dakar, Senegal.

In 2019, Nina Aouilk was honored by the French government with the title "Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters" for her contribution to the arts community. 

Over the years, exhibitions of Nina Aouilk's works have been displayed in venues like the Savannah College of Art and Design in the US, the African Modern Art Al Maaden in Marrakech, and the Arab World Institute in Paris.
